Order of Sai Maa Brahmacharya
– Sai Maa
The members of the Order serve as a ministry by living, embodying and sharing Sai Maa’s teachings. They are located on four continents, and offer teaching programs and spiritual coaching, carry out humanitarian work, build community, and support Sai Maa’s global presence, including Shaktidhaam, Sai Maa’s ashram in Varanasi, India.
Nine members of the Order were initiated as Mahamandaleshwars at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, India on February 8, 2019. Those receiving this honor join one of the four Vishnu lineages, the Vishnuswami lineage that dates back over 2700 years. Learn more about the Mahamandaleshwar here.
What is Brahmacharya?
When one takes initiation as a Brahmachari (male) or Brahmacharini (female) in the Order of Sai Maa Brahmacharya, he or she takes lifelong vows to live a life of celibacy, purity, discipline and devotion to the guru. While members of the Order may be engaged in a wide range of outer activities, the inner focus of their being is always self-realization.
THE SAI MAA LINEAGE
The Order of Sai Maa Brahmacharya has been blessed by the presence of many great Indian gurus who have been deeply connected with Maa. These great masters, who have offered the Order their wisdom and initiations into ancient lineages, include Guruji, Gurunathan, and Sri Sri Sri Tiruchi Mahaswamigal (Apaji) and His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Satuwa Baba Maharaj (Maharaji).
Swamiji was initiated in 2003 as a Brahmachari by Sai Maa and Sri Tiruchi Mahaswamigal, and four years later as a Swami by Sai Maa and Sri Satuwa Baba Maharaj. He serves as a spiritual leader and mentor within the Order of Sai Maa Brahmacharya, and offers teachings, coaching and spiritual guidance in both English and French to communities around the world. In addition, he is Executive Director of the nonprofit organization, Light Legacy Foundation, that is inspired by Sai Maa’s many years of dedication to the upliftment of women. (www.lightlegacy.org)
